Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my maternity session?
The best time to document that growing belly of yours is around 34 weeks (give or take). At this point, you should be showing a little more, but you aren’t uncomfortable just yet! It is best to book as far out as possible because I only do a select number of sessions a month!
When should I book my newborn session?
The best time to book your newborn session is in the first or second trimester. Once you tell me your due date, I will write you down for that month. I do a limited number of newborns a month to ensure I can give my absolute best to your newest addition.
How old should my newborn be for their newborn session?
Ideally, 7-12 days old is the perfect time for your babe’s newborn session. You are one to two weeks postpartum, allowing your body to heal. Baby has also adjusted some to their new life outside of your womb. This is also when baby is still sleeping the majority of the day!
Where do you do newborn sessions?
I love doing my lifestyle newborn sessions in the studio! It is filled with the most gorgeous natural light and I have all the wraps and swaddles needed for baby. I also have a full size bed set up so that we can create an intimate and natural environment that mimics your home. You do not have to worry about cleaning up your bedroom or house to make sure it is ready for pictures. I am more than willing to come to your home as well!
Where do you do maternity sessions?
Your maternity session can take place outdoors at a location of your choosing or inside The JKP Studio. The majority of my mamas choose to have their maternity session outside. I always encourage dad and your other little ones to be a part of your maternity session as well!
Do you do sessions outside of the membership?
I do! You can choose to book a newborn, maternity, milestone, or mommy and me outside of the membership. The reason so many mamas opt for the Motherhood Membership is because you receive ALL of the digitals from each session and also receive other exclusive perks. If you know you are going to do more than one session listed above, opt for the membership!
